Neopterygii
Gars ( Lepisosteus sp.)
The Neuflosser ( Neopterygii ) are a subclass of bony fish ( Osteichthyes ). Of the extant teleosts belong to them the seven species of gars ( Lepisosteidae ), the bowfin ( Amia calva ) and the nearly 30,000 species of genuine bony fish ( Teleostei ). The only extant bony fish that do not belong to the Neopterygii, the coelacanth ( Latimeria ), the lungfish ( Dipnoi ), the Flössler ( Cladista ) and the sturgeon species ( Acipenseriformes ).
The Neuflosser can be fossil evidence to the Lower Carboniferous.
Features
The fin rays carrier ( Pterygiophoren ) are numerically equivalent to the fin rays ( Lepidotricha ) the dorsal fin. The suspension of the jaw and opercular accepts a new bone, the symplectic. The hyomandibular, the chief bone of Hyoidbogens, stands on a spur of the Operculare, one of the bones of the operculum, in conjunction. Allen Neuflossern lack the acrosome of the sperm.
System
It is undisputed that the Neuflosser are a monophyletic taxon. About the kinship between the basal orders there are different views. The Knochenganoiden that were long considered paraphyletic group, have been revalidated again in recent times.
