Nes (Dongeradeel)

Nes is a village in the municipality Dongeradeel in the Dutch province of Friesland. It is located about 12 kilometers north of Dokkum and has 360 inhabitants (2008).

Nes is located on the Wadden Sea and was originally a peninsula was dammed up there in the 12th century. Therefore, the name of the village also means headland. Before the local government reform of 1984 was part of Nes Westdongeradeel.
