Nes, Vágur

Nes [ ne ː s] at Vágur ( Danish name: Naes ) is a place of the Faroe Islands on the island Suðuroy. There is also a same place on the island Eysturoy, see: Nes ( Eysturoy ).

Nes is now regarded as a suburb of Vágur, the second largest city on the South Island of the archipelago on Vágsfjørður. According to tradition, it was here in the 15th century disputes over field boundaries that have been decided by a wrestling match.
