The Archaeological Museum is a 1956 opened in the Bulgarian coastal town of Nessebar museum with an extensive art collection of exhibits from antiquity, the Middle Ages and the period of the Bulgarian National Revival.

History

The first exhibition in Nessebar was set up in the Church of John the Baptist. 1994 the museum moved into the current building, which was designed by Bulgarian architect Christo Koew. The cultural legacy of Nessebar is presented in five exhibition rooms dedicated to different time periods.

The archaeological museum Nessebar is listed as number six among the 100 national tourist objects in Bulgaria, which was created by the Bulgarian Tourist Office. In the foyer of the museum, the UNESCO certificate is posted, proving the inclusion of the old town of Nessebar on the list of World Heritage Sites on December 9, 1983.
