100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria

100 national tourist objects is a tourist organization in Bulgaria, which was initiated in 1966.

The full name of the initiative is to know Learn Bulgaria - 100 national tourist objects ( Bulgarian Опознай България - 100 национални туристически обекта ).

Intention and organization

The aim of this organization, whose target group are Bulgarians, it is to inspire the tourists to visit the most famous tourist sites of Bulgaria and know.

Among the 100 selected objects are cultural, historical, geographical, archaeological and architectural monuments of the global, national or regional significance. The most important natural phenomena in Bulgaria, historical sites, archaeological sites ( " Architectural Reserves ", " historical- archaeological reserves " ), churches, monasteries and the highest peaks against a comprehensive picture of the rich cultural and historical heritage and nature of Bulgaria.

Stamp and raffles

The visit of these objects is confirmed by stamping in a stamp booklet. The stamps are located near or in the visited object. This stamp booklets are available from the Bulgarian Tourism Organisation, the co-initiator of this initiative 100 national tourist objects also. The stamp booklets are for sale in the 100 subjects or in the local chapters of the Bulgarian Tourist Association.

For the visit of 25, 50 and 100 national objects you get a bronze, silver or gold badge from the National Organizing Committee of the Bulgarian Tourist Association.

The organizing committee conducts annually in August a raffle among the New advertisers the badge by, where you can win abroad or in Bulgaria Travel and tourist equipment utensils, bicycles, tents, sleeping bags or smaller profits.

After the reunification in Bulgaria ( 10 November 1989 ) In 1989 some objects were deleted, which were connected with the communist history of Bulgaria, and replaced by new ones. The current version now and numbering of the list (as of August 2008) is valid since 2003.
