Isperih

Isperich (Bulgarian: Исперих ) is a town in northeastern Bulgaria in the Oblast Razgrad. It is located in the central part of the Ludogorie region.

In honor of the Bulgarian king Asparuch the old Turkish name of the city was renamed Kemallar Isperich. Isperich has around 12,580 inhabitants. A decreasing proportion of them are part of the Turkish minority.

The Thracian Tomb of Sveshtari, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located near the city. Another UNESCO World Heritage Site in the area is the grave Demir Baba Teke mausoleum of the 17th century, showing the religious influences of the Bektashi, and has Sunni, Christian and pagan traditions.
