Netherlands Symphony Orchestra

The Nederlands Symfonieorkest ( " NedSym " ) is a Dutch symphony orchestra. Abroad it is known under the name of The Netherlands Symphony Orchestra. The home of the orchestra is the Nationaal Muziekkwartier in Enschede. The orchestra performs in Enschede, Hengelo, Zwolle and Deventer, on as well as in the province of Overijssel and in the Randstad.

History

The predecessor of the ensemble Nederlands Symfonieorkest was the Twents Kamerorkest ( " Twente chamber orchestra" ), an amateur ensemble that began in the 1930s under the leadership of Klaas de Rook. 1947 changed its name to Twents this orchestra Philharmonic Orchestra ( " Twents Philharmonic Orchestra ").
