Neue Berliner Musikzeitung

The New Berlin music newspaper (in short NBMz ) was a musical journal, which appeared in the years 1847-1896 by Bote & Bock. She was the continuation of the Berlin musical newspaper, which was published 1844-1847 by Carl Gaillard and was considered the most important music magazine in Berlin.

The New Berlin music newspaper reported extensively on the music scene in Berlin, but also from other cities in Germany and Europe, and was in addition to the general musical newspaper, the Neue Zeitschrift für Musik, the most influential journal in the German states. She was also the official publication of the Berlin Composers Society ( BTV).

The NBMz was founded by Gustav Bock, a former board member of the publisher. A former editorial director was Hermann Wolff (1845-1902), of a concert agency founded in 1880. He was the agent of Ferruccio Busoni and incidentally still responsible for the founding of the Philharmonic Society.
