Neues aus Uhlenbusch

News from Uhlenbusch is a children's series on German television about the life in a farming village in northern Germany. The stories about the children of the fictional town were filmed in several northern German towns, including Rehburg- Loccum, Wiedensahl Evessen, Bornum am Elm, Konigslutter and Räbke. Of the many child actors Moritz Bleibtreu is still known to a wider audience today. Other well-known performers were Hans -Peter Korff than the naive - friendly postman uncle Heini ( Heinrich Lüders ), Trude Breitschopf as granny Piepenbrink, Uwe Dallmeier as a farmer Brömmelkamp and Hildegard Wensch as Aunt Appel boom.

The first broadcast was on 24 December 1977. Were sent three episodes in a program in the evening program. The individual episodes were anmoderiert of the children who played the leading roles.

The 40 episodes of the series were produced from 1977 to 1982 by ZDF. Directed by, among others, Thomas Draeger; it assisted Barbara Schubert. Series authors were Monica Bleibtreu, Rainer Boldt, Karl Hans Frank, Bernhard Frey, Herbert Guenther, Hans -Peter Korff, Ingrid Kötter and Josef Rödl. The series was later released on DVD.

In 1980, the new movie from Uhlenbusch was - I had turned a dream in and around Bornum on Elm. Here are three series episodes, which have been compiled into a frame story wrapped in a feature-length film. This movie is also available on DVD.

In fact, there are two places called Uhlenbusch. One in the city Elsfleth in Wesermarsch in Lower Saxony and the other at Mölln in the Duchy of Lauenburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

The theme song of the show was very catchy, especially the chorus Auweia, auweia, the rooster lays no eggs.
