Neumagen-Dhron (Verbandsgemeinde)

The community association Neumagen -Dhron was an administrative unit in the form of a local authority in the district of Bernkastel -Wittlich, in Rhineland -Palatinate. The municipality has included four independent local churches, the administrative headquarters was in the eponymous municipality Neumagen -Dhron. It was disbanded after the population at just under 5600 inhabitants, the smallest municipality in Rhineland -Palatinate and was on 1 January 2012.

History
The community association Neumagen -Dhron had been newly formed to November 7, 1970 in the context of functional and territorial reform by the " Eighth state law on administrative simplification in the land of Rhineland -Palatinate " of 28 July 1970 effect.
On 28 September 2010 the provincial government passed the " First Law of Municipal and Administrative Reform " with the goal of efficiency, competitiveness and management of local power structures to improve. For unitary councils was established that these at least 12,000 inhabitants ( main residence on June 30, 2009) should include. The so-called " voluntary " phase ended on 30 June 2012.
On 10 February 2011, the association council decided to disband the municipality Neumagen -Dhron on 1 January 2012. Dissolution of the community association and the incorporation of the associated local churches in the neighboring towns association was supported by the community and municipality councils. On 22 March 2011, the Merger Agreement was signed.
The corresponding " state law on voluntary territorial changes, the association communities Neumagen -Dhron, Bernkastel -Kues and Schweich on the Roman wine road in the municipal and administrative reform " was adopted on 26 September 2011. Accordingly, the communities Minheim, Neumagen -Dhron and Piesport were incorporated on January 1, 2012 in the municipality of Bernkastel -Kues, the community Trittenheim changed, however, in the municipality Schweich on the Roman wine road and thus in the district of Trier -Saar castle. The community Neumagen -Dhron retained the status reason center. The land granted on the occasion of the voluntary reorganization of a unique inhabitant based allocation in the amount of 565 280 euros.

The association council Neumagen -Dhron was last from 22 volunteer council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 of personalized proportional representation, and the full-time mayor as chairman.
