The Nevėžis is a river in Lithuania and a right tributary of the Nemunas. The Nevėžis considered culturally and historically as the boundary between the two regions Žemaitija (Lower Lithuania) and Aukštaitija (Upper Lithuania).

Name

Course

Channels

Ecology

Trivia

The novel " The Valley of Issa " by Polish author Czeslaw Milosz is based on the childhood memories of the author, who as a child some time in the Valley of Nevėžis (in the book with the fictitious name " Issa ") is spent.

After the river a Lithuanian basketball club in Kėdainiai ( Nevėžis Kėdainiai ) and a football club ( Nevėžis Kėdainiai ) are called.
