The New Design University in St. Pölten ( NDU ) was founded by the Economic Chamber of Lower Austria and its Economic Development Institute ( WIFI) 2004. It focuses on academic training in the fields of design, technology and business.
Overview
The New Design University is housed in the Wi- building in St. Pölten, since autumn 2012, is another location in the halls of closed Glanzstoff Austria in operation.
Study programs
The German -language university offers the following bachelor's, master's and advanced degree programs:
Faculty of Design:
- Preparatory Studies / Foundation Course (2 -semester course )
- Graphic Design & Media Design (6 semesters full- time Bachelor of Arts)
- Manual & Material Culture (6 semesters Bachelor of Arts)
- Interior design & 3D design (6 semesters full- time Bachelor of Arts)
- Interior design & 3D design ( postgraduate postgraduate studies; Master of Arts )
- Innovation and design processes (4 semesters part-time, Master of Design)
- Strategic Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovation ( *)
Faculty of Engineering:
- Event Engineering (6 semesters full- time Bachelor of Engineering )
- E- Mobility & Energy Management (4 semesters part-time master's degree, Master of Science)
- Intellectual Property Rights & Innovation (4- semestig part-time master's degree, Master of Science)
(*) subject to the approval of the Accreditation Council
Basis for admission is the ranking due to a recording process with interview. The semester fee is 2800 EUR per semester for a bachelor's degree and 3,500 euros per semester for a master's degree.
Accreditation status
Under Austrian law, private universities must be re-accredited on a regular basis. The current accreditation period runs until 31 December 2014.
