New Musik

New music was an English synth - pop music band of the late 1970s and early 1980s, led by songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Tony Mansfield. The band was not commercially very successful, although their single " Living by Numbers" space reached 13 on the British charts and had several appearances in Top of the Pops.

The band recorded three albums that somewhere between Kraftwerk, The Cars, The Korgis, Tears For Fears and OMD were. Noteworthy was the combination of drum machines and synthesizers with natural instruments, which required a significant production-related expenses at times of analog studios.

Their debut album, " From A To B" ( 1980) peaked in the UK charts and number 30 resulted in four singles ( "Straight Lines", "Living By Numbers ", " Sanctuary " and "This World Of Walter" ).

The second album, " Anywhere " (1981), musical probably their best, only reached number 69 in the UK charts. Singles were "Luxury " and " While You Wait" - both reached no chart position.
