New Party Nippon
The New Party Japan (Japanese新 党 日本, Shinto Nippon ) is a small Japanese party that was founded by opponents of postal privatization in 2005, who had to leave the ruling Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP) led by Prime Minister Koizumi Jun'ichirô. The founding members included three lower house and an upper house MP, chairman of the party was Yasuo Tanaka, governor of Nagano Prefecture.
In addition to the New Party Japan, the People's New Party of postal privatization opponents also emerged; the party exclusions meant that Prime Minister Koizumi exclaimed elections, to seek and to weaken the new parties confirmation for his reforms in the electorate by in the constituencies of the LDP rebels strong candidates, so-called " assassin " ( including Takafumi Horie, Yuriko Koike ) aufstellte. A year later, the party chairman Tanaka lost the gubernatorial election in Nagano. He won the single seat upper house of the New Party Japan in the Upper House elections in 2007. The party was in the upper house, together with the New People's Party and the Shinryokufūkai part of the majority faction of the Democratic Party. The only member of Parliament, the New Party Japan, Makoto Taki, left the party in July 2007.
In the 2009 election Tanaka was able to successfully capture a lower house seat in the constituency of former minister Tetsuzo Fuyushiba. The substitutes for Tanaka in the upper house, Makoto Hirayama, belonged to the faction of the Democratic Party, not the New Party Japan. 2010 founded Tanaka a common fraction with the New People's Party, which he dissolved again in April 2012, when Shizuka Kamei said his party emerging from the New People's Party. He then positioned himself in opposition to the governing coalition of Democrats and the New People's Party. In the general election in 2012 Tanaka was in the constituency Hyōgo 8 the only candidate of the party; he lost to clear Hiromasa Nakano of the Kōmeitō, who was supported by the LDP and due to a regional cooperation agreement and the Nippon Ishin no Kai.
