Newark Athlete is a silent film from 1891 by William KL Dickson. It is thought that the film was taken in June of 1891. The film served as an experiment for detail shots close. For the film of a 3 /4 inch wide footage was used.

In the film, even an athlete can be seen swinging some clubs.

Background information

1894 remake of the film with the title Athlete With filmed wall. The film is also known as swingers club. No. 1 and Indian Club Swingers become known.

The film is preserved in the Library of Congress collection, in addition to the film in 2010 was admitted into the National Film Registry.
