Newbiggin (Dacre)

Newbiggin is a village in the civil parish Dacre in the county of Cumbria in North West England. The village is located approximately three miles east of Penrith in the Eden District. On the outskirts of Newbiggin was a station on the railway line Penrith Cockermouth Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway, but this station could be confused with a namesake train on the railway line Settle - Carlisle and therefore received the name Blencow station, although the place Blencow further north of this station is located. The station was closed in 1972.
