The Newcastle Vipers were an ice hockey club in the city of Newcastle upon Tyne in England. They played from 2002 to 2011 in the British Elite Ice Hockey League. The games were later discharged into the Metro Radio Arena, in Whitley Bay Ice Rink.

History

The Newcastle Vipers solved the Newcastle Jesters, founded in 1999 as a professional ice hockey team after a year without professional hockey in Newcastle from. After three seasons in the British National League the Vipers changed for 2005/06 season in the Elite Ice Hockey League. After a second place after the main round, the Vipers playoff champion was right after the play-offs in their first season. They beat in the final of the Sheffield Steelers.

On 6 May 2011, the team was disbanded after persistent financial difficulties.
