NGC 7252

NGC 7252 is a barred spiral galaxy of type SB0 and is located in the constellation Aquarius. The galaxy has an angular extent of 1.9 '× 1.6 ' and an apparent magnitude of 11.1 mag and was discovered on 26 October 1785 by William Herschel.

The galaxy is also called Atoms for Peace Galaxy, since it almost looks like an atom around which revolve the electrons. The expression comes from the Atoms for Peace speech by U.S. President Eisenhower from 1953.
