Nicholas Kristof

Nicholas Kristof Donabet (born 27 April 1959 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American journalist, author and columnist and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner.

Kristof studied at Harvard University and at Magdalen College, Oxford University. In 1981 he became a member of Phi Beta Kappa Community. He began in 1984 for The New York Times to work as a correspondent. Today, he is a columnist for various print media such as the Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine and The New York Times.

1990 won he and his wife Sheryl WuDunn the " Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting " for their coverage of the Tiananmen Square Massacre. 2006 Kristof won for the second time the award in the category " Pulitzer Prize for Commentary" for his comments to the Darfur conflict.

Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn published in 2009 the book Half the Sky: how women around the world fighting for a better future ( Original Title: Half the Sky ) on discrimination against women in the world and their fight against it.

Family

Kristof is married to journalist Sheryl WuDunn. Together they have three children: Gregory, Geoffrey and Caroline.
