Nicholas of Lynn
Nicholas of Lynne, also romanized Nicolas de Linna, (* around 1330 probably in Norfolk; † after 1386 ) was a Carmelite and astronomer.
Nicholas of Lynne was, according to the historian of the 16th century, John Bale, a Carmelite and studied at Oxford. In 1386 he published on behalf of John of Gaunt, a " calendar " astronomical tables to the year 1462.
He later became known for his work Inventio Fortunata in which he describes the mythical magnetic mountain.
