Nicholas Romanov, Prince of Russia

Nikolai Romanovich Romanov (Russian: Николай Романович Романов, scientific transliteration Nikolai Romanov Romanovic; born September 26, 1922 in Antibes ) is the uppermost member of the House of Romanov -Holstein -Gottorp and a descendant of the Russian Tsar Nicholas I.

Life

Nikolai is the oldest son of Prince Roman Petrovich Romanov (1896-1978) and his wife Countess Praskowia Scheremetewa ( 1901-1980 ). He is a great-grandson Nikola I Petrović Njegosch of Montenegro and great-grandson of the Russian Tsar Nicholas I by his father.

Nikolai grew up in France and after graduation he studied philology and history. Through family connections he made in the Italian Navy from his military service. He was discharged from military service through his short-sightedness and lived during the Second World War in Egypt. Nikolai Romanovich Romanov is since 21 May 1952, the Italian Sveva Countess Gherardesca (* 1930) married. The marriage produced the daughters Natalia, Elisaveta and Tatiana. The couple lives in Rome and Rougemont.
