Nick Baumgartner

Nick Baumgartner ( born December 17, 1981 in Iron River, Michigan) is an American snowboarder. It starts almost only in the discipline of snowboard cross, rare in the slopestyle.

Nick Baumgartner was successful before his professional snowboarding career in other sports. He played college football at the Michigan All-State team, was wrestler, but also as a hurdler and active in baseball. With the snowboard he made in 2004 for the first time attracted attention when he won the competitions in snowboard cross both the USASA Nationals and the U.S. Boarder Extreme hard.

His debut in the World Cup had Baumgartner in March 2005 in Lake Placid in a snowboard cross. Then he started to February 2007, only in North America and FIS Cup race without him reach outstanding success. His first victory in a race of the North America Cup he succeeded in Tamarack (Idaho ) in February 2007, with the second place on 17 March 2007, he was in the World Cup to reach the first podium and finished the season standings in the cross of the season 2006/2007 fifth place, which meant 49th in the overall standings. In the following season he his first World Cup victory in the seventh race of the season succeeded again in Lake Placid. In the overall World Cup of the season it was enough in the discipline rating for the seventeenth and in the overall standings for the 53rd rank. In the Argentine Chapelco he successfully launched in the 2008/2009 season, winning the South American Cup was followed by a fourth place finish at the first World Cup competition of the season, this was also his fourth top ten result in the World Cup. Two other top ten results he recorded in Arosa and early 2009 in Bad Gastein. A few days later, he scored his biggest hit up to that point, when he took three snowboard cross at the World Championships in South Korea space. It starts at the World Cup so far only in snowboard cross, in FIS races occasionally in slopestyle.

Baumgartner lives with his partner and his son Landon in his hometown of Iron River in the U.S. state of Michigan.
