Nicolas de Neufville de Villeroy

Nicolas de Neufville, marquis de Villeroy, duc de Villeroy since 1663 (* 1597, † November 28, 1685 ) was Marshal of France.

He distinguished himself as a warrior in Italy, Catalonia and Lorraine. He was also an educator and in 1646 Marshal Louis XIV

1661, he became Chief of the Fiscal Council, Knight of the Order of the Holy Spirit and received in 1663 the dignity of a peer and duke.

On July 11, 1617 he married Madeleine de Blanche Fort de Créquy. The couple had four children: Charles, François, Françoise and Catherine.

He died on 28 November 1685.
