Nicolas Grenier

Nicolas Grenier ( born April 29, 1975 in Paris ) is a French poet and translator.

Life and work

He studied at the Sorbonne and at the Institut d' études politiques de Paris. His first book of poems Quant à Saint- Germain -des- Prés, et un tanka sur la main d'après trente appeared in 2011.

His poems have been translated into fifteen languages. Grenier himself translated poems by Durs Grünbein, Ernst Jandl, Georg Trakl, Else Lasker-Schüler and the expressionist poet Jacob van Hoddis into French. Together with David Rochefort he translated poems of Barack Obama.
