Nieman Fellowship

The scholarship Nieman Fellowship was established in 1939 by the American Foundation The Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University in Cambridge (Massachusetts ). The one-year scholarship to the beneficiaries, which are reporters, editors, photographers, columnists, cartoonists, and also Internet professionals the opportunity to expand their skills and reflect on their professional skills.

Organization of the scholarship

The fellows are housed at Harvard University in the Lippmann House. During the year, at the University they are attending regular courses, but also seminars visit the Nieman Foundation. The Foundation sees its task, inter alia, that the 25 to 30 fellows return to perform their jobs with renewed vigor and new perspectives to their posts by the experience at Harvard and the U.S..

The number of fellows selected annually amounts to 25 to 30 persons, of which about half American and half are foreigners.
