Nigel Doughty

Nigel Doughty ( born December 12, 1957 in Newark-on -Trent, Nottinghamshire; † 4 February 2012 Skillington, Lincolnshire ) was an English football official and businessman.

Career

Doughty was Chairman of Doughty Hanson & Co, an international British investment company he had founded in 1985 along with Richard Hanson.

As of April 2002, he was chairman and owner of the football club Nottingham Forest, where he counted along with chief executive Mark Arthur to leadership. Previously, he served as board member and president already at various companies such as Umbro and Tumi. In October 2011, he announced his resignation as president of Nottingham Forest.

On February 4, 2012 Doughty died during a workout in his home gym in Skillington.

Private

His son Michael Doughty plays active as a professional football player at Queens Park Rangers.
