Nikhil Kanetkar

Nikhil Kanetkar ( born May 13, 1979 in Pune, Maharashtra ) is an Indian Badminton player.

As a member of the Indian national team, he won the silver medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. Second places in individual competitions he achieved at the 1999 U.S. Open, at the 2001 Scottish Open and at the 2002 Welsh Open. In 2003 Kanetkar won the Volant d'Or de Toulouse.

Kanetkar took part in Athens at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Here he defeated in the first round, the Spaniard Sergio Llopis in three sets, but retired in the second round after losing in straight sets against the Dane Peter Gade from.

In the 2004/ 05 Bundesliga season Kanetkar played for the first BC Bischmisheim. Its use in the play-off semi-final against the EBT Berlin was declared by the court of the Association for DBV not according to the league order, whereupon both encounters were counted 8-0 for Berlin. In 2005 he won at the South Africa International.
