Nikita Vitiugov

Nikita Kirilovitch Witjugow (Russian: Никита Кириллович Витюгов, FIDE name Nikita Vitiugov; born February 4, 1987 in Leningrad ) is a Russian chess player. Since 2007, he conferred the title of Grand Master.

Witjugow won the 2005 Russian Junior Championships U18 and was in the following two years each runner the age group U20. In July 2005 he defeated, a swept over internet cities competition between New York and St. Petersburg, the American grandmaster Alexander Stripunsky 2-0. In July 2006 he won the tournament Blue Sevan in Armenia with 6.5 points from 9 games. At the Junior World Championships in October 2006 in Yerevan, he came on the 2nd place. In 2010 he published a book on the French Defence ( The French Defence: A Complete Black Repertoire, ISBN 9548782766 ), the 2012 revised edition under the title French Defence Reloaded ( ISBN 9548782863 ) was published.
