Nils Poppe

Nils Poppe ( born May 31, 1908 in Malmö Möllevången, † June 28, 2000 in Helsingborg) was a Swedish actor, director and theater director. He made primarily with its popular Swedish comedy in film and on stage a name.

Biography

His original name was Nils Einar Jonsson, which he had received from his foster parents and Amanda Anders Jönsson. The stage name " Poppe " gave him the Oscar Winge Hippodromtheater in Malmö, where he debuted in 1930. Early on, he recognized his natural talent for dance, acrobatics and comedy, a talent that he could really use under his long professional career. 1934 Nils Poppe came to the Folkets Hus Theatre in Stockholm, where he quickly became known and popular. Film career

Nils Poppe's film debut came in 1937 with a supporting role, then followed some film comedies and in 1940 Poppe was a leading comic actor of Sweden. 1948, the film character Fabian Bom was born.
