Nimet BaÅŸ

Nimet Baş ( previously Cubukcu; born March 2, 1965 in the province of Karaman ) is a Turkish lawyer, former Minister of Education of the Republic of Turkey and current deputy of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

Cubukcu graduated from the law faculty at İstanbul Üniversitesi and worked as a lawyer. She is a founding member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP). Cubukcu was deputy in the 22nd legislative period (October 14, 2002 to July 22, 2007 ) of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. In the 59th Government ( I. Erdoğan Cabinet) she was Minister of State. After the renewed electoral victory of the AKP in 2007 she was still Minister of State of the Second Erdoğan Cabinet. In this role she managed:

  • The management of the Administration for Disabled
  • The General Directorate of the Institute of Social Services and to protect the children ( SHÇEK )
  • The Directorate-General for Studies on Social and Family Affairs
  • The Directorate General for the Status of Women
  • The management of the resource Darülaceze

On 1 May 2009 she was appointed as part of a cabinet reshuffle to Minister of Education and was the only minister in the Cabinet. For the 2011 elections, they ran for the province of Istanbul and settled again in parliament. Your successor as Minister of Education was Ömer Dinçer.

She speaks German, is divorced and the mother of a child.
