Nitroamine

The nitramines (also Nitramide ) are a class of substances of chemical compounds containing the functional group R.sup.1R.sup.2N - NO2. They are often used as explosives or insecticides. Is nitrated amines, which are obtainable by condensation reaction with nitric acid in part from the corresponding amines.

Nitramine

The simplest representative of the group of substances called nitramines is called nitramine. Nitramine (R1 = R2 = H) has the molecular formula H2N2O2 and is already an explosive which, however, found no practical application because of its high chemical instability. Nitramine one prepares by decomposition of Nitrourethan.

Its melting point is 72-73 ° C, where it decomposes at the melting point is reached immediately. In case of contact with concentrated sulfuric acid, it undergoes immediate explosive.
