Noah (Band)

NOAH (formerly Peterpan ) is a successful Indonesian pop-rock band made at the current time from the members Ariel, Andika, Loekman and Reza. The band is best known for its simple lyrics and the voice of Ariel.

History

The band was formed in 1997 by Andika ( Andika Naliputra Wirahardja - Pianist ), Uki ( Mohammad Kautsar Hikmat - guitar), Ariel ( Nazril Irham - Singer ), Abel ( bass ) and Ari ( drummer ) founded as a school band in Bandung.

In June 2003, Peterpan released their debut album Tamen Langit. The second album Bintang di Surga ( A star in the sky ) was published. The album reached the milestone of 350,000 sales in the second week. This Peterpan was one of the greatest Indonesian bands in the area of ​​albums sold. In response to the success of their second album the band were awarded 3 SCTV prices, one in 2004 and two in 2005 were also given to them on May 9, 2005, the MTV Asia Award for Favourite Artist Indonesia ( Indonesian popular band).; for the song Kukatakan dengan Indah (I say it nicely ) of the band the Best Pop Alternative band ( Best Pop Alternative band ) in the Indonesian AMI (2005) was awarded.

After their second album, on 18 September 2005, they released the soundtrack for the film Alexandria under the title Menunggu Pagi ( Waiting for the Dawn ).

In August 2012, the band Peterpan renamed in NOAH.
