Noel Mander

Noel Percy Smith, MBE ( born March 19, 1912 in Crouch at Wotham, County of Kent; † 18 September 2005) was a British organ builder.

He learned the organ trade from Hill Norman & Beard, but made in 1936 independently. Later, the convocation was followed in the Second World War. Used in Africa, he restored the organ in Algiers and later during a recovery stay in Italy nor the organ in Trani. From 1946 he was back in England active, where there was a result of war damage more than enough to do. He therefore set out in the following years also a bigger name as a restorer because as an organ builder.

Demonstrated work:

In 1978 he was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire. In 1983, he went into retirement and handed the business over to his son, John Mander, who is now created organs all over the world

He was married and had three sons and two daughters.
