Nokia Solutions and Networks

Nokia Solutions and Networks B. V. is a multinational telecommunications company. The company was founded in 2007 as Nokia Siemens Networks BV founded and was a joint venture between the Finnish Nokia Oyj and Siemens AG of Germany. On April 1, 2007 Siemens Networks was merged with Nokia Networks Business. Thus, the second largest after addiertem pro forma sales company was formed for mobile - and the fourth largest fixed line infrastructure. Nokia Siemens Networks employed by its own account at the time of the founding approximately 60,000 employees worldwide. On 1 July 2013, Siemens announced that Nokia will buy up the Siemens share of the company for 1.7 billion Euro and henceforth become the sole owner. After the takeover, the company was renamed to Nokia Solutions and Networks. Headquartered in Espoo in Finland, it is registered as a company under Dutch law ( the Constitution).

Operations

Nokia Solutions and Networks develops and sells hardware and software components for voice, data and mobile networks and related services to mobile operators and service providers worldwide. The company specializes in mobile broadband solutions and has, according to the company, about 600 customers worldwide, including many of the largest network operators (as of 2013).

NSN is divided into two business areas Mobile Broadband and Global Services. The Mobile Broadband segment includes software and hardware for the radio and core part of mobile networks to transmit voice and data services. The product portfolio includes mobile access technology, packet- switching systems ( Core), and network management solutions. These mobile broadband solutions also incorporate components that provide additional flexibility and a migration to cloud-based architecture enable (Liquid Net). Customer Experience Management software is used to optimize the customer experience on the web. For Global Services includes services such as planning, installation, optimization and maintenance of networks, and systems integration and managed services.

Corporate Structure

Nokia Solutions and Networks is a global presence in approximately 150 countries according to their own information. Main sites for research and development are located in Finland, Portugal, Germany, India, China and the United States. The production is mainly based in China, Finland and India.

On July 19, 2010 Nokia Siemens Networks and Motorola announced the conclusion of an agreement about the fact that NSN will acquire the majority of the assets in the business segment mobile network infrastructure from Motorola for 1.2 billion U.S. dollars .. The final purchase price, however, was only 975 million. By buying NSN received around 50 mobile operators as new customers.

Realignment

On 4 May 2007 the company announced that it was planned to reduce the world about 9,000 jobs by the end of 2010. Of which should be affected in Germany about 2900 employees in Finland and approximately 1,600 employees. Divisions, the future would not be standing in the focus should be outsourced to external business partners. On 23 November 2011, the management announced that by 2013, reduce further 17,000 jobs to economies competitive and profitable in the long term. Currently, the company employs approximately 3,700 employees in Germany at the Augsburg, Berlin, Bonn, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Leipzig, Mannheim, Munich and Ulm.
