Nong Han Lake

Nong Han ( Thai หนอง หาร ) is the largest natural freshwater lake with islands of Thailand and park on the northern outskirts of Sakon Nakhon, in the Isaan region.

The lake has an area of ​​125.2 km ². It is extremely rich in fish ( the fish Bardus leiacanthus represents 20% of the fish population). In the area there are 32 bird species, 31 fish species and 42 plant species. It is alleged that in the lake a monstrous snake lives.
