, Formerly called Nonsuch Iceland Nonesuch Iceland is small island in the northeast of the western Atlantic archipelago Bermuda. The island is located between the southwestern tip of Iceland and Saint David's Castle Iceland and forms the north-eastern part of the Bermudan Castle Islands.

Geography

The crescent -shaped island with a land area of ​​just over 0.5 square kilometers is densely and projects at the highest points up to 16 meters above the sea beyond. It is bordered to the west of the Bermudan Nature Castle Harbour, and east to the open sea of the western Atlantic.

History

The island was (probably ) discovered in the course of settlement of Bermuda ( 1612 ) by the English. It was only in 1865 established a quarantine station for yellow fever sufferers here. The quarantine station is no longer in operation today.

Flora and Fauna
