Norbert Zafimahova

Norbert Zafimahova ( born October 28, 1913 in Ambarikorano; † 3 April 1974) was a Malagasy politician and Secretary of State.

Life

He was from 1948-1958 Senator for Madagascar in the French Senate of the Fourth Republic. In 1956 he founded the UDSM ( Union of Démocrates Sociaux de Madagascar ) and ran in 1959 as President of the National Assembly (Madagascar) s ( 1958-1960 ) unsuccessfully against Philibert Tsiranana to the office of President.

He overthrew the Fokon'olona on 3 July in 1974 with an aircraft during the conflict over political reforms and the reinstatement, in the originally Hannes Kamphausen (* 1936, † 1974), a consultant of the left-wing interior minister Ratsimandrava was supposed to fly.
