Norman Wanstall

Norman Wanstall is a British editor and sound engineer, who in 1965 won an Oscar for the best sound effects.

Life

Wanstall began his career in the film industry in 1957, first as an editor for the movie Miracle in Soho, later worked as a sound editor and engineer and worked in the production of 26 films. He has been doing particularly well known for its involvement in James Bond movies.

At the Academy Awards in 1965 he won the Oscar for best sound effects in the James Bond film Goldfinger ( 1964) by Guy Hamilton with Sean Connery, Gert Frobe and Honor Blackman in the lead roles.

In 1978, he directed the documentary The Rise and Fall of Ivor Dickie, whose editor he was.
