Normanville (Eure)

Normanville is a commune with 1085 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Eure in the Haute -Normandie; it belongs to the district Évreux and Canton Évreux -Nord. The inhabitants call themselves Normanvillais.

Geography

The river flows through Iton Normanville. The municipality is located on the Route nationale 154 and about 6 kilometers north of Evreux.

History

1225 Normanville of Louis VIII was awarded as fief to Simon de Poissy. In the 15th century the fief passed to the Melun family. Charles de Melun († August 22, 1468 ) was Baron de Normanville et the country and bailiff of Evreux. It was built by King Louis XI. appointed Grand Master of France. He was accused of treason by Jean de La Balue, convicted and beheaded in Le Petit- Andely.

1811 Caër was incorporated.

Least inhabitants Normanville in 1936 (176). From the 1970s, the congregation grew. Most residents had 1999 ( 1255 ).

Attractions

In the parish church there is a monument historique as a Grade II listed stone statue from the 17th century, and a memorial plaque of 1598, which was donated by Simon michellet, which became known as Yves d' Evreux. The retable was manufactured in 1531 and later moved from another church after Normanville. He was classified as a monument historique in 1906.

Economy

The municipal area protected geographical indication ( PGI ) for Pork ( Porc de Normandie), poultry ( Volailles de Normandie) and cider ( Cidre de Normandie and cider normand ) apply.

  • Yves d' Evreux ( 1577-1632/1633 ) was a historian and researcher.
