North American Football Confederation

The North American Football Confederation (German North American Football Confederation ) was one of the predecessors of the CONCACAF. It was founded in 1946 and served as the organization of the North American Football Associations. In 1961, the NAFC united with the Confederación Centroamericana y del Caribe de Fútbol ( CCCF ) for CONCACAF.

1947 and 1949 held the NAFC a North American football championship from the participation of the United States, Cuba and Mexico involved. 1990 and 1991, was held with the North American Nations Cup (→ North American Soccer Championship) a similar nature competition. With the establishment of the Gold Cup, which was first staged in mid-1991, and to the USA, Canada and Mexico will automatically qualify, this competition has become obsolete.
