North Kalimantan

Kalimantan Utara ( Nordkalimantan ) is a province of Indonesia. It was 2012 new created by separated out the region of the province of Kalimantan Timur.

Geography

The province is located in the northeast of the island of Borneo. It includes the administrative districts ( kabupaten ) Bulungan, Malinau, Nunukan and Tana Tidung and the city of Tarakan. Capital is Tanjung Selor in the district Bulungan.

Kalimantan Utara has an area of ​​72,567.49 km ² and 738 163 inhabitants.
