The North Philadelphia station ( German: Bahnhof Philadelphia -North) is a key railway station in the north of the city of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania. It is located on Broad Street in height 2900 North at the junction of Chestnut Hill West Line of the Northeast Corridor. He originally belonged to the route network Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR ) and is now (2008) operated by two regional rail lines of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority ( SEPTA ) and from a few Amtrak trains operating along the corridor. The abbreviation is PHN.

The main strand of the tracks belongs to the Northeast Corridor, which runs at this point in northeast-southwest direction. There are two high center platforms that can be accessed by an underpass. Three of the original eight tracks are dismantled. Directly west of the platforms branches off the two-pronged Chestnut Hill West Line in a tight corner coming from the southwest to north. In the graph, there are two low, shorter side platforms. All tracks are electrified with catenary.

The original station building is located on the south side of the main tracks. It originated in 1901 in the Neo-Renaissance style and is the oldest surviving station building on the Northeast Corridor. It was eventually closed and was then a long time to decay. Today it houses a supermarket. Its original function took on a new, small flat on the north side of the platform underpass. On the south side of the underpass was bricked.

Also, immediately west of the platforms crosses under the four-track SEPTA Main Line, which originally belonged to the PRR - rival Reading, the Northeast Corridor in approximately a right angle. There are no platforms; about 500 meters south of the underpass is located instead of the breakpoint North Broad station.

At the eastern end of the two central platforms Broad Street passes under the Northeast Corridor in north-south direction. Underneath runs with the Broad Street Line subway. Their Station North Philadelphia is located between said stations.

Although North Philadelphia is a transportation hub along with the breakpoint on the Main Line and the subway station, there are comparatively very few passengers. SEPTA counted in 2007 in the regional transport 164 A and 280 -outs daily, Amtrak 2008 in the whole year 349 passengers, which corresponds statistically in about a passenger on the day.
