North Region (Cameroon)
North (French ) or North (English ) is a region of Cameroon with capital Garua.
Geography
The region is located in the north of the country and is bordered to the north by the region of Far North, to the south by the Adamawa Region, on the west by Nigeria and on the east by Chad and the Central African Republic. In the border with Chad, the 2200 km ² large Bouba - Ndjida National Park and on the border with Nigeria 3,300 km ² Faro National Park.
The topography of the province is largely dominated by the highlands of Adamawa, that is up 2,710 meters high. In the north- west are the foothills of the Mandara Mountains. The province crosses the largest tributary of the Niger, the Benue, with its many tributaries, such as the Mayo Kébbi. The southeastern part of the province is located in the water catchment area of the Logone and is thus part of the Chad basin.
