The Northeastern Illinois University (also called neiu ) is a public university in Chicago, Illinois. History

The origins of the Northeastern Illinois University to go to the Cook County Normal School (now Chicago State University) back, which was founded in 1867 in Englewood, Illinois. The university received after several name changes, the name " Chicago Teachers College ."
