Northern Cyprus parliamentary election, 2013

Early parliamentary elections in northern Cyprus were held on 28 July 2013.

Early parliamentary elections in the internationally unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus had become necessary after the government of Prime Minister Irsen Küçük had lost the majority in Parliament in May 2013. Eight deputies had left his National Unity Party (UBP ) and his government lost a vote of no confidence on 5 June in Parliament. On June 11, 2013 President Derviş Eroğlu commissioned the Social Democrat Sibel Siber to form a transitional government. On June 23, 2013 Sibel Siber was elected prime minister of an interim government. She was the first woman to hold this office and was on a government of Republican Turkish Party (CTP ), Democratic Party ( DP) and the party of social democracy (TDP ) support.

One of the early parliamentary elections were a total of five parties. However, the United Cyprus Party ( BKP ) failed at the 5 - % level.
