Sibel Siber

Sibel Siber (* 1960 in Nicosia ) is a Cypriot politician of the Republican Turkish Party ( CTP). She was from June 13 to September 2, 2013 Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Since September 2013, it is the President of Northern Cyprus Parliament.

Siber began in 1979 to study medicine at the University of Istanbul, from which she graduated in 1983 with a doctorate. Then she practiced at a clinic for internal medicine. In 1989 she received a scholarship to the University of Virginia in 2000 and a Fulbright scholarship at the Rush University in Chicago.

In 1994 she was elected to Parliament nordzyprische. After the fall of the government of Prime Minister Küçük Irsen in June 2013, she was from June 13 to September 2, 2013 Prime Minister of the transitional government of CTP, DP and TDP.

Although her ​​party the CTP strongest party was in the parliamentary elections of July 28th and it was able to achieve the best individual result, Siber is not represented in the new cabinet of Özkan Yorgancioglu. In September 2013, she was elected President of Northern Cyprus Parliament.
