Norton Buffalo

Norton Buffalo ( born September 28, 1951 in Oakland, California as Phillip Jackson, † October 30, 2009 in Paradise, California ) was an American harmonica player in a variety of styles ( rock, R & B, blues, country and jazz) at home was. Also as a producer, actor, and session musician, he came into existence.

Life

Buffalo was born in 1951 the son of a harmonica player in Oakland, but grew up in Richmond. Even in high school he played in various bands. At the beginning of the 1970s he was active in various groups from the Bay Area, such as Clover, The Moonlighters and Elvin Bishop.

His greatest successes came as a member of the Steve Miller Band, to which he belonged 32 years. As a session musician, he joined nearly two hundred albums in appearance, including when recordings of The Doobie Brothers, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash and Elvin Bishop. A cover version of his song "Is not No Bread in the Breadbox " was played by the Jerry Garcia Band frequently and is also on the live album " Shining Star ". Also as a producer, he joined ( Wheat Field) in appearance. On 30 October 2009 Buffalo died at the age of 58 years at a cancer.
