Ntfsprogs

Ntfsprogs is a collection of free tools for managing NTFS file systems.

Ntfsprogs NTFS supports all versions of Windows, both 32 -bit and 64-bit. On 12 April 2011 it was announced that ntfsprogs is absorbed into NTFS - 3G.

Included programs

  • Ntfsresize, for the non - destructive resizing an NTFS partition
  • Ntfsclone, uncompressed, but storage-efficient copies of NTFS partitions. It is not supported image verification.
  • Mkntfs, for creating NTFS partitions
  • Ntfsmount, to embed in FUSE
  • Ntfsfix, Windows causes the boot to check the NTFS partition
  • Ntfsundelete, provides a file restore
  • Ntfsdecrypt, decrypt EFS
  • Ntfsck, performs a consistency check ( the development has stopped ).
