Climbing history

The massif was first in 1898 and 1902, 1904 and 1910 explored by Arthur Neve. 1903 explored the Dutch mountaineer Dr. H. Shillem the massif and discovered the plateau between the two peaks; He came on now to 6400 m. In 1906, the researcher pair William Hunter Workman and Fanny Bullock Workman succeeded in the first ascent of the 6930 meter high Pinnacle Peak. Fanny Bullock achieved with this ascent a world altitude record for female climbers. However, they fell into competition with the climber Annie Smith Peck who ascended the Peruvian Huascaran with allegedly 7,300 m for the first time. It turned out later that she had measured because of a snow storm at an altitude of 600 meters.
