Oak Technology

Oak Technology was founded in 1987 and was a supplier of controller chips for optical drives such as CD- ROM, CD- RW and DVD as well as sound card chips such as the well-known Mozart sound card. In the late 1980s and early 1990s graphics chips for PC graphics cards are also offered. With the advent of 3D accelerator mid-1990, the company moved 31 March 1998 back from the market and focused on the controller chips. August 11, 2003 Oak Technology was acquired by the chip maker Zoran.
